Toes Meet Dirt. Hands Meet Sand… Reconnect with your Mother – The Earth.

Have you ever heard someone say, “Let’s go earth today!” or maybe they have said, “I need to do some earthing, I feel like I need some grounding.”  Whichever way it is used, it is a new terminology for most of us and you may have wondered what in the world they were talking about.

For those of us, who like to recharge and reconnect the good old fashioned way, this is a great article for you because this is what you have been waiting for.  Earthing can be done many different ways, but the essence of it is simply to bond your physical body with that of nature.  For example, taking a walk barefoot on the beach, sinking your toes into the sand, walking through the waves, stepping in the dirt or the grass, and on and on.  It is a way to ground yourself through allowing the Earth’s electrons to enter the body from the ground.

For me personally, I enjoy a dip in the ocean that sinks my feet fully into the wet sand and allows me to feel the energy and power from the ocean all the way up to my ankles and calfs.  For this, I typically have to pull up my pants!  So it is even better if you are already in shorts or a skirt.   I suppose it is ultimately the best if you are fully dressed for the beach in your bathing suit.  Either way, the effect will be the same and you will feel yourself walk away with a smile on your face.  Atleast, I always do.

In doing my standard article research, I did find that people have created some contraptions you can put indoors to work or sleep in that claim to have the same effects.  I also ran across earthing shoes.  I will not take the time to go further into any of these items because I believe you can’t beat the real thing, nor the price – because it is 100% free to go stick your feet in the sand or in the grass.  Priceless if you ask me.

The benefits that are claimed from earthing are many.  I will name a few here that I feel to be positive and on point. There is certainly a *calming effect that in essence probably helps to *alleviate stress.  This can perhaps go even further to *relieve muscle tension and headaches as well as *improving blood flow and blood pressure.  My favorite effect is that it tends to *decrease the symptoms that women experience from biological harmones during the menstrual cycle.  Scientifically it makes sense that it would *fight inflammation by reducing free radicals, which are positively charged.

All I can say is, try it for yourself. If it helps you feel more alive, increases your energy, produces a genuine smile, and/or creates a sense of calm and relaxation… then what could be the harm?  Enjoy Earth.  Earth more. Earth everyday.  Earthing is free and it makes me happy.  Share with a friend.  Earth in pairs.  Enjoy.
